Willingtow (/willingtow / [Translation Unavailable]) is a subtropical Town located in Landlyn Dutchy, Ruwia County, within the Kingdom of Helsteria.

The name Willingtow is derived from the Sylvin language, as Willingtow was founded by Zlîb Pughankland Vaughan MacCawley, who was culturaly Sylvin.

Climate

Willingtow has a yearly average temperature of 27°C (80°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a hot 32°C (89°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 23°C (73°F). Willingtow receives an average of 146 cm/y (57 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the spring. Willingtow covers an area of nearly 6 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 2294 m (7526 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Willingtow was founded durring the late 11th century, by Zlîb Pughankland Vaughan MacCawley. The establishment of Willingtow was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Zlîb Pughankland Vaughan MacCawley electing to pay people to resettle in Willingtow .

Willingtow was built using the conventions of Sylvin durring the late 11th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Willingtow is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Willingtow is buildings folow an organic layout of premissive paverstone streets whihch gives the town a shape simmilar to a tree, if one views its streets from above. The town emploies a series of defencive earthworks, spikes, and fences to provide some protection against wild beasts and smaller groups of intelegent foes. Unfortuantly, these minimaly adiquite are in extreem disrepair, so much so that one cannot tell if they are decaying from a lack of mantance or damage incured.

A quick look in any direction shows Willingtow is filled with vices. There are many taverns, brothels are advertising their services on the streets, cardsharks are plying their illicit trade within public squairs, and every shop has at least three signs advertising various sales on goods. That alone wouldn’t be too noticeable, if it wasn’t just so omnipresent and overwhelmingly how the people of this town live. Or if the general public wasn’t so enthusiastically, openly, and merrily participating in these activities.

Civic Infrastructure

Willingtow has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Willingtow . They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Willingtow 's parks.

Cultural Notes

Willingtow 's mayor's house was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used which employed abundant symbolic geometry, using pure forms such as the circle and square, and plans are based on often symmetrical layouts featuring rectangular courtyards and halls. These structures were is decorated with carved stone or stucco reliefs and made use of colorful stone mosaics..

Willingtow is remarkably well-fortified for a site of its size and role. Tall, stout walls, strong points inside the community, concentric defenses, a strategic terrain location, or a large body of standing troops might be present. History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century, Willingtow was attacked by a slaver gang capable of fielding large forces. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Willingtow lost 262 people, 162 livestock, and 22 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 99, when members of Willingtow 's militia enacted an operation to transport a specific cashe of materials to a particular research site unharmed. The operation was complicated by the officer in charge of Willingtow 's forces was incompetent, and issue many foolish and-or unprofessional orders. The conflict ended with the defense of the research site against a siege, which ended in a crushing defeat for Willingtow 's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Willingtow 's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
